Creator of the Octologue, an 8-line syllabic form of poetry,
Patricia Gomes has been published in countless literary journals, both in print and electronically.
The former editor of Adagio Verse Quarterly, Ms Gomes' poem, One Man's Claret was nominated for a 2008 Pushcart Prize. She was awarded
First Place in iVillage's Annual Poetry Slam in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, she earned Second
Place. In 2005, Ms. Gomes was awarded 2nd place in The Narrows Center of the Arts poetry contest in Fall River,
MA with her poem, Elsie Cardoza.
A member of the Massachusetts State Poetry Society and the
Cape Cod Literary Press, Patricia's latest chapbook, A Scheduled Departure, is available in electronic form as a free download from Lily Press. Her 2004 chapbook, Stroking Castro's Beard is still available for sale. Click on the title for purchasing information.

The inaugural issue of Lorraine and James - Global Urban Literature included her poem, For (insert your name here),
I Did Know You. Patricia's co-authored the chapbook, Simple Truth and Coughing Things with Michael
Paul Ladanyi. It was published by Little Poem Press in March 2005.
